The reality of DREAMS!!!

It is my father’s greatest dream
That I become a man of fame
In the world of computers
Which I feel is a mere waste
For computers are not to my taste.

It is my mother’s longest desire
To see me in a doctor’s attire
But the thought of any surgical operation
And clinics filled with patients in desperation
Persuades me to give up this aspiration.

It is my own ardent wish
To serve my land as a soldier
To save my land from the clutches of evil
And free my brethren from any sort of peril
I’d take up the role of a dare-devil.

The zooming jets and thundering cannons all around
Helpless soldiers making low and wincing sound
Many war-tents full of victims with wound
Attended by brisk doctors and nurses, bound
It’s a heart-rending scene at the battle field.

Though I assure mu heart is bold and brave
All these sights of war and horror make me crave
For unity and peace to prevail along every enclave
When man to cruelty and terrorism does not become a slave
Instead vows to be kind and sensibly behave.

If only there would be peace and no war,
With my ambition of becoming a soldier put afar
I could sit in my room, playing on my guitar
A tune of harmony, with the doors and windows ajar
Hoping to become in future, a famous music star.

This was the dream of a 9th grader some years back, after three years he joined his under graduation in the field of information technology. He had different dreams at that time, some of which were:
1. A high profile computer job with the highest of a 5 digit salary.
2. A Minimum of 400 cc bike to go to his workplace.
3. Totally branded outfit like, A Louis Philippe shirt, a Park Avenue trousers and a Woodland shoe as the minimum outfit.
4. The best notebook and a good mobile phone which could replace a palmtop.
5. A beautiful girlfriend.

This would have been the dream of anyone who joined engineering 4 years back. But things
changed as years passed by, where surplus jobs were replaced by surplus graduates and finally during the end of the graduation people came to hear the term RECESSION. There were some who never have heard this term before, but now I guess no one who graduated this year will never have a doubt about RECESSION.
Those who wanted high profile vehicles are now satisfied with public transports. Now the boy is okay with his 70cc 2-Wheeler and the 4 digit salary he gets. He made himself satisfied saying that he doesn’t have to trouble his parents for pocket money. This is the true side of dreams; this world we live in is a funny little place with a bunch of crazy people. But the boy hopes one day every dream might come true.
